Structured Cabling

Cabling Done Right the First Time

Get a Cabling Quote

Every network in your building runs over the cabling infrastructure beneath it. Get the cabling right, and everything else works. Get it wrong, and you spend years troubleshooting intermittent problems that trace back to poor installation, wrong cable category or inadequate pathway capacity. Diego Tech installs structured cabling for new construction, existing building retrofits and office moves, with certification testing on every project so you know what you have when we leave.

We hold an Arizona ROC contractor license and bring the same design-first approach to cabling that we apply to every project: site assessment, pathway planning and a documented installation that your team or future contractors can work from.

Structured Cabling Services

Cat6 and Cat6A Installation

Cat6 cabling supports gigabit Ethernet across standard commercial runs. Cat6A extends that to 10-gigabit performance and is the right choice for new construction where future bandwidth requirements are not yet known. We install both categories to manufacturer standards, with proper bend radius management, pull tension limits and a termination technique that preserves the performance the cable is rated for.

Pathway and Conduit Design

Cabling lives in pathways: conduit, cable trays, J-hooks  and innerduct. Proper pathway design determines whether your cabling plant is maintainable and whether there is room to add drops when the business grows. We design pathways before pulling cable, which is the sequence that produces a clean, organized result. Improvised pathways added after the fact create the tangled infrastructure that makes future work difficult.

Data Rack and IT Room Cabling

The data rack is where your structured cabling terminates and your network equipment lives. We install and dress racks with patch panels, cable management and organized termination so the rack is functional rather than a wiring disaster. A clean rack reduces troubleshooting time, makes moves and changes faster, and reflects the quality of the entire installation.

Certification Testing and Documentation

Every cable run we install is tested and certified to verify it performs at the rated category. Test results document wire map, length, attenuation and near-end crosstalk for each run. You get the test report as part of your project completion so there is a documented baseline for every circuit in the building. This matters when problems arise months later: certified results let you rule out cabling as the cause immediately.

New Construction Cabling

New construction is the right time to build a cabling plant that will serve the building for decades. Walls are open, conduit can be routed through ceilings and walls without disruption, and the pathway infrastructure can be sized for future capacity. Diego Tech works with general contractors, electrical contractors and project owners during the construction phase to coordinate your cabling installation within the construction schedule.

For commercial new construction, we provide a cabling design that accounts for all technology systems in your building: data drops, VoIP phones, security cameras, access control readers and wireless access point locations. Running all low-voltage infrastructure in a single coordinated design prevents the conflicts and redundant work that happen when each system is treated separately.

Existing Building Retrofits and Upgrades

Retrofitting cabling into an occupied building is more complex than new construction, but it is what most projects require. We assess the existing cabling plant, identify what can be reused and what needs to be replaced, design pathways through walls and ceilings that minimize disruption, and complete the work with attention to the finished appearance in occupied spaces.

Common retrofit scenarios include upgrading Cat5e infrastructure to Cat6 or Cat6A, adding data drops to accommodate office reconfigurations, improving cable organization at the rack and extending coverage to areas of the building that were never properly cabled.

Structured Cabling Connects Everything Else

Your cabling plant is the foundation for your network, your security cameras, your VoIP phones and your access control readers. Diego Tech installs all of these systems, which means we design the cabling with the full technology scope in mind.
